Lewiston
MAINEiacs Hockey
moves to 1470AM ESPN
Lewiston, ME
- 1470 ESPN and the Lewiston MAINEiacs announced today that the new
radio broadcast home for MAINEiacs hockey beginning the 2006/2007 season
will be 1470 AM ESPN Radio.
Under the new agreement all MAINEiacs games,
home and away, including playoffs will be broadcast live on the radio. Jeff
Mannix will continue as the play by play voice for the MAINEiacs.
“This is a
perfect match for both 1470 ESPN and the Lewiston MAINEiacs. The #1 name in
sports and the most popular sports team in the greater Lewiston/Auburn area,
coming together. Plus, the addition of broadcasting all games gives fans the
opportunity to follow and support the MAINEiacs no matter where they play”
said Stan Manning, Director of Programming for Nassau Broadcasting-Maine.
“The
opportunity to have all 70-games (plus playoffs) broadcast live on 1470 ESPN
was a natural transition for the Lewiston MAINEiacs. Extending our
existing advertising partnership with Nassau Broadcasting by adding live
radio broadcasts provides significant benefit through cross promotional
opportunities on Nassau’s 3 other stations in this market (FRANK-FM, The
Wolf and The Bone). We are equally pleased to have Jeff Mannix return
as the “man behind the mic” as he continues to garnish praise around the
league for his ability to deliver a first class product” stated Matt
McKnight, Vice President & Governor, Lewiston MAINEiacs Hockey Club,
LLC.
1470 ESPN
will continue to seek further opportunities to provide local sports
programming to the Lewiston Auburn area throughout the year.
The Lewiston
MAINEiacs 2006-2007 season will debut as the team embarks on a two-week
roadtrip starting the third week of September. The MAINEiacs home
opener is tentatively set for Friday night, October 6th at the
Colisée.
Nassau is a
privately held firm in Princeton, New Jersey. Pro forma for all pending
transactions, Nassau will own and/or operate 52 radio stations in New
Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and
Maine. It is the 15th largest broadcaster in the United States in terms of
the number of radio stations it owns. The Company's web site is www.nassaubroadcasting.com.
